Application Engineer

Job Summary

The Developer - Software Engineering is a technology and engineering role being responsible for customized software solution engineering & operations, system integration and application management at Universal Beijing Resort. This individual will work with internal developers & partners to design, develop, deploy, configure, and support various technical aspects of guest facing digital applications and park operation applications like eCommerce, digital sales ticketing & hotel integration, in-park resort applications.

S/he will manage the software development lifecycle and drive continuous improvement with respect to enhancing functional and technical capabilities of managed systems. This encompasses supporting internal processes and stakeholders, managing software implementations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data, identifying system and software issues, along with prescribing fixes and enhancements to the system.

We are seeking skilled & motivated individuals that can work effectively & positively in a highly complex and dynamic working environment. S/he will be asked to balance a broad set of priorities and ensure progress is made on all tracks of work.

Major Responsibilities

•Liaise with Business Analyst, Digital Product Team, and In-house & Outsourced developers to conduct and oversee technical implementation, prioritization, and system delivery.

•Assist architect on technical roadmap planning and manage the portfolio of technology stack across all managed applications. Keep researching and studying technology trends.

•Perform hands-on software implementations and manage software engineering throughout complete SDLC, including workload estimation, development tasks breakdown, application/service/integration design, POC, coding, code review, deployment & release.

•Troubleshoot, address issue, and drive system enhancements and improvements.

•Manage and perform hands-on work of DevOps pipelines maintenance, code repository management, CI/CD automation, and a high quality of code release/patching/upgrade.

•Collaborate with infrastructure team to oversee the regular inspection of Ali-cloud resources, middleware, monitoring tools, cronjobs, storage, network, etc.

•Work with DBA teams on database performance tuning, scripting, backup & restore.

•Develop and operate system maintenance activities that adheres to compliance requirements and business needs.

•Assist Info-Security team to complete regular IT audit, ISO certification inspection, MLPS review, etc., to ensure all IT operations processes and documentations are compliant.

•As L1 support team, to support troubleshooting, issue resolving, and technical integration consulting in the operations of channel sales, e.g., OTA, marketplace technical issue support.

•Perform other duties and operational tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

•2+ years’ work experience in large-scale & high-concurrency systems related projects (eCommerce or ticketing is preferred), is mandatory.

•3+ years’ experience as a senior developer or 1 year’s tech lead on relevant system projects, with hands-on UML modeling & coding skills, and system integration experience are required.

•Project and development experience of SAP Commerce/Hybris is preferred.

•Deep understanding of software engineering, with comprehensive knowledge of prevailing software system architectures (MVC, Micro-services, Event-Driven, etc.)

•Strong Java development experience. Proficiency with back-end frameworks (SpringBoot, SpringMVC, MyBatis-plus, etc.).

•Working experience of .net development is a plus.

•Solid experience working with relational databases (MySQL, SQL Server, cloud RDS) and NoSQL databases (Redis, Mongo DB, etc.).

•Experience with cloud & virtualization technologies.

•Demonstrated ability in troubleshooting, analysis, design, and be able to explain complex concepts both concisely and simply to technical & non-technical audience.

•Hands-on DevOps experience is preferred.

•Knowledge and work experiences with EDW, BI, data modeling & transformation, is preferred.

•Self-motivated & accountable, with a high level of commitment to responsibility.

•Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

•Schedule flexibility is needed to meet project implementation and operation’s needs.

Education

•Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Information Systems, Computer Science, or Engineering is required (or equivalent relevant work experience).
