Position overview

allnex invites you to join our thriving R&D team in position of Innovation Scientist in Shanghai, China to work on developing innovative polymer products and technology in lithium ion Batteries and Electronics . Responsibilities

Deliver a sustainable new product as a leader or member of cross-functional teams to offer timely and effective fulfillment of regional/global customer and business needs. Provide professional guidance to stakeholders on product, process, and customer-specific issues, both internal and external. Provide an interface with the academic world on one side (scouting, cooperation), and allnex application laboratories and customers. Actively promote allnex technology at conferences and contribute to its protection via patent applications. Actively participate in literature tracking and share findings at regular meetings. Evaluate freedom of operation and participation in the allnex IP process for new technologies. Lead and contributed to new projects, focusing on medium to long-term innovation. Provide guidance to lab technicians on new technologies and process of cooking for new products. Create sales tools and launch packages for new technologies and product promotions. Prepare and present new technologies and solutions in internal and external meetings and seminars. Ensure easy transition to commercialization for new products by providing strong support to the plant while scaling up.

Required skills and experience

4 years or more of progressive experience in similar technologies (polyacrylate, polyurethane, polyimide, polyester, epoxy, etc.) from battery, coating, or adhesive industries. Hands-on experience of working in laboratory environment for synthesis and material characterization. Demonstrated ingenuity and innovativeness. Good collaboration skills with diverse fields, including chemists and physicists. Strong problem-solving skills and resilience. Good communications and interpersonal skills. Proficient in English speaking and writing. Strong focus on achieving results, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines. Shows good organizational skills in preparation and execution of lab experiments. A team player – ability to collaborate with a team from multiple locations/ disciplines to deliver results. Project management skill is essential, demonstrating ability to define project, integrate cross-discipline team members to collaborate and deliver to project goals on schedule. Highly self-motivated Demonstrated eagerness to learn. Displaying a positive outlook and willingly dealing with the stress in complex situations.

Qualifications

Ph.D. or Master's Degree in Organic Polymer, or Colloid chemistry, as well as practical expertise in preparation.
