Job Overview

We have an exciting job opportunity for a Team Leader - Engineering to join us in our Shanghai, China office. This position is responsible for leading our local team with a focus on multiple service lines as well as growing our business in greater China. A strong background in leading fire protection and code consulting services, especially in the hospitality market, is highly desirable. This position will have a focus on client engagement, business development and growth for the Shanghai office and greater China. We are looking for a strong operations leader with good business acumen and a growth mindset. The individual will report to our VP of Operations in Asia. 

Responsibilities

The Team leader performs Senior level technical work approximately 50% of the time, while also leading a team that includes technical staff providing professional consulting services.Function as the site leader coordinating all tasks associated with this role including property management interface, facilitate company-wide communications such as town halls and host site meetings.Work with leadership team to promote a positive and healthy office culture.Foster a culture of acceptance and diversity in thought.Promote employee engagement and satisfaction by ensuring positive work environment, work-life balance, guidance towards career goals and interests, and competitive reward.Maintain strong working relationships with clients and colleagues to deliver quality products, on time and within budget.Manage client expectations and relationships through clear and thoughtful oral and/or written communication and assist team members in doing the same.Ensure business processes are implemented and recommend improvement for delivering of best-in-class service.Assist in recruiting and retaining top talent.

Requirements and Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or other technical field.8-12 years’ experience and demonstrated successful history in performing technical consulting work and developing and cultivating client relationships.China National Grade 1 Fire Engineer LicenseExperience in hospitality management / system design.Experience in professional service business processes.Advanced communication (oral and/or written) and presentation skills with the ability to deliver sales presentations to clients. This position located in Shanghai and candidate must be a Shanghai resident.Professional Engineering (P.E.) License or another equivalent professional designation desirable.Expertise in conducting simulation/modeling.Bilingual (English/Mandarin)
