Summary:

Primarily provides pre-sales technical support for the development and implementation of complex products/applications/solutions. Uses in-depth product knowledge to provide technical expertise to sales staff and the customer through sales presentations and product demonstrations. Assists the sales staff in assessing potential application of company products to meet customer needs and may prepare detailed product specifications for the development and implementation of customer products/applications/solutions. May create detailed design and implementation specifications for complex products/applications/solutions. May build a mini-application based on customer requirements to demonstrate feasibility of the application, often requiring rapid prototyping and/or product demo for client. May provide consultation to prospective users and/or product capability assessment and validation.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering or communications-related technical training and experience is preferred Technologies skill and knowledge to be required: General optical fiber technologies Physical layer and devices of optical fiber communication & DWDM (fiber, mode, dispersion, nonlinear parameters, polarization, modulations, PDL, switch, laser/LED, EDFA/SOA/RAMAN amplifiers, WSS/ROADM, tunable filter, Optical spectrum, Flex-Grid, Transponders, Muxponders etc.) Communication protocols like Ethernet/IP, OTN Deep Fiber/DWDM product/technology knowledge e.g. OSA, Coherent, Flex-Grid, High speed optical client and trunk optics (400G QSFPDD, CFP2-DCO ,QSFPDD ZR etc) Deep Fiber Industry, Customer, and Test Case knowledge e.g. customer’s test procedure, customer’s real unmet needs, test eco-system Experience in test and measurement industry is an added advantage. Over 4 years’ experience as Field Application Engineer or equivalent General knowledge in automation skills, including SCPI command programming. Strong troubleshooting skills
