We are seeking an experienced and passionate Primary School PE Teacher to inspire young students to develop a lifelong love for physical activity and a healthy lifestyle for a January 2025 start. The ideal candidate will create a dynamic, inclusive, and engaging PE program that promotes physical fitness, teamwork, and personal growth. This role requires a patient, enthusiastic individual who is committed to fostering a positive and active environment for students of all abilities.

The school, founded in 2016, is a K-12 international school located at the foot of the picturesque and historic YuQuan Mountain, Haidian District in Beijing. The campus is 200,000 square meters of beautiful gardens that integrate natural ecology, cultural heritage, and modern beauty with 140,000 square meters of green space.

The school curriculum is organized into the Elementary School, grades K-5, the Middle School, grades 6-8, and High School, grades 9-12. Under the guidance of the Ministry of Educations nine-year compulsory education program, the curriculum is built on the strength from both Chinese and western education.

For Elementary and Middle School, the school follows a bilingual program using the US Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards along with the Chinese National Curriculum. For High School, the school follows the US Common Core and College Board AP curriculum and also offers the UK IGCSE and A-Level UK programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess a well-rounded PE curriculum for primary school students, focusing on skill development, sportsmanship, and physical well-being.
  • Design age-appropriate physical education activities that cater to different skill levels and encourage active participation from all students.
  • Foster an inclusive environment where every student feels valued and capable of achieving success in physical activities.
  • Promote teamwork, discipline, and a positive attitude towards physical health and fitness.
  • Supervise and ensure the safety of students during PE classes, recess, and school sporting events.
  • Organize and coordinate school sports events, tournaments, and extracurricular activities, working closely with other teachers and staff.
  • Evaluate student performance and provide feedback to help students improve their skills and understand the importance of physical education.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate physical education with broader academic goals.
  • Keep up-to-date with best practices in physical education, including safety guidelines and emerging teaching methods.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, Education, or a related field.
  • Bachelor of Education, PGCE, Teaching license: QTS, national/state teaching license/certificate or equivalent. TEFL/TESOL: not considered.
  • Three years of experience teaching in a bilingual school, international school, or government/state school
