On is a brand driven by exceptional design. This means we give great importance to how we communicate through our visual language, from photographic and video outputs to in-store experience. We are looking for an art director to lead our Chinese campaigns and content. This is a studio focused role; overseeing and directing our product photography and video from conception and production all the way through to the final delivery, as well as other visual manifestations of our brand communication in the fields of graphic design and 3D design.

We are looking for a holistic visual thinker with a passion for sports, technology and lifestyle, a great communicator and even greater team player.

Your mission

– Be the go-to person for art direction at On China
– Carry the right tone of voice for On as an authentic, premium, Swiss sportswear brand
– Cover art direction work for marketing, social, ecom, retail and UGC
– Conceive, brief and oversee creation of video and photo assets from start to finish
– Art direct campaigns, events and other projects with a 360° lens
– Support graphic design and 3D design work with artistic direction
– Shape and build out localisation for Chinese audiences with a deep understanding of regional trends and preferences
– Maintain a firm brand consistency and a strong connection with global
– Proactively collaborate and communicate with regional marketing team and other contacts at On
– Align and exchange with peers and counterparts in Japan and global
– Represent our values in front and behind the camera
– Build a roster of and manage relationships with potential regional collaborators such as photographers, models or producers
– Be a proactive defender of On’s brand image in China, and support quality control across areas and topics beyond your direct field of responsibility

Your story

– You have at least 3+ years of experience in art direction or comparable fields of work
– You have business proficiency in English and Mandarin
– You are good with time management
– You are reliable, transparent and trustworthy
– You have good eye for visuals and able to localize (understand global concepts but also Chinese audiences’ unique needs)
– Strong communication skills (listen, present and negotiate with in- & externals)
– You hold a rationality based decision making mindset and positive mindset with openness for new challenges and learnings
– You have eagerness to progress and like bringing new ideas to the table
– You recognise feedback as a growth opportunity and are not afraid to receive and give feedback
