Job Description

for Quality Inspectors working with Star Trading Co. Ltd Shanghai, collaborating with the Quality Assurance Department of APM Terminals Crane & Engineering Services (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (APMT CES). Their main responsibility is to supervise the quality of manufacturing and testing processes of terminal tractors at manufacturers' sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the QA SPOC and Quality Inspector for the Terminal Tractor Project.
  • Aid in finalizing the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) for the project, ensuring inspections are conducted as per plan.
  • Conduct detailed daily inspections focusing on terminal tractor manufacturing and testing.
  • Ensure coverage at manufacturing or terminal sites through proper planning.
  • Report any Non-Conformance related to deviations from contract, specifications, or standards.
  • Participate in supplier audits and quality management meetings.
  • File and submit QA records and documents as necessary.
  • Prepare project QA reports and submit to CES Project Manager(s).
  • Engage with manufacturers to resolve quality issues.
  • Collaborate with APMT Asset Engineering for design-related problem-solving.
  • Manage project changes and stakeholders on-site for CES.
  • Assist in developing quality inspection procedures for terminal tractors.
  • Submit time reports in line with CES's framework.
  • Adhere to all HSSE rules and regulations.
  • Perform other related activities as needed.
  • Strive to enhance customer satisfaction and optimize Total Cost of Ownership.
  • Comply with company rules, regulations, and Code of Conduct.
  • Uphold the culture, values, and reputation of CES and APMT Group.

Reporting:

  • Reports to the Project Single Point of Contact (SPOC).
  • Reports to the QA Site Team Leader or Head of QA Department as per assignment.

Work Location and business travel:

  • Primary location is Xi'an, China.

In some cases, travel to suppliers' and/or terminal sites may be required.

Duration of the Project:

Project duration is around 9 months, subject to fabrication progress.

Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Training in quality management and inspection is a plus.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years in quality inspection within heavy vehicle industry.
  • Experience with terminal tractors in a terminal environment is valuable.

Specialized knowledge:

  • Technical knowledge in fabrication, welding, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

Communication:

  • Effective communication skills in oral and written formats.
  • Proficiency in English for technical communication.
  • Computer skills including MS Office.
