Job Title: Intern – Collections Management and Acquisition Team

Location: Beijing or Shanghai (Hybrid Working)

Temporary Role for 6 months

About Us:

The Collections Management and Acquisition Team, a division within the Publishing Performance & Intelligence group, is dedicated to supporting the growth of commissioned content across the SN Journal portfolio at Springer Nature.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Intern to join. This internship offers a unique opportunity for individuals interested in the publishing industry to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of the content acquisition. As an Intern, you will work closely with our Collection Management and Acquisition Team to support the data manipulation, selecting data fields from manually curated google sheets (or similar) residing in portfolios, and transferring to structured Excel templates with support and under instruction from dedicated portfolio representatives.

Responsibilities:

SN to provide context and make portfolio Google sheets available in a timely manner and in good order for data extraction As guided by Portfolio representatives, cut and paste select core data items from original sheets to structured Excel templates provide by SN SN to provide key point of contact for each portfolio to provide day to day support and guidance and to work with the Intern in the creation and maintenance of a pipeline for delivery. Take instruction from key contact in the delivery of remedial action to correct errors in process. Work with the technical team to support the loading and testing for data in the Collection Pipeline Management Tool.

Qualifications:

Currently enrolled in a Master or PhD program in STEM related field. Attention to detail. Ability to take instruction and work to deadline. Consideration of data being selected and willingness to escalate any anomalies or peculiarities to portfolio lead as they surface. Good written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite. Awareness of Google sheets / Docs Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
