What Strategic Sourcing - Global Products Contributes to Cardinal Health

Global Sourcing is responsible for creating and managing diverse strategic supplier partnerships that drive enterprise value with innovation, best cost and competitive advantages benefiting customers, suppliers, and patients. This team develops and executes strategic plans by utilizing market intelligence, industry knowledge, and cross-functional collaboration. Competitive advantage is achieved through supplier selection and management, contract negotiation, supply chain optimization, and risk mitigation.

Responsibilities

  • Sourcing project execution: lead the sourcing workstream in the project team, select suppliers complying with company SOP, negotiate favorable contracts, and manage supplier performance and relationships. Collaborate closely with project leaders and global cross-functional team members to prevent delays caused by sourcing or suppliers.
  • Manage APAC supply base with assigned categories to deliver top-notch product cost, quality, service, compliance, and innovation for Cardinal Health branded products in the North American, APAC, and EMEA markets.
  • Co-develop and execute global sourcing strategies to achieve the best-in-class value, sustainable productivity, and high levels of quality and service aligned with applicable product category strategies.
  • Adhere to company business ethics and procedures while performing responsible procurement.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering or equivalent.

Must Have:

  • 8+ years of experience in a Strategic Sourcing role in a multinational company or global environment.
  • Solid Strategic Sourcing capability, experienced in End-to-End Sourcing scope: Supplier Scouting, Supplier Selection, Contracting negotiation, Should cost, Negotiation, Onboarding, Life Cycle Management, VA&VE, executing Sourcing strategy with cross-functional teams.
  • Solid interpersonal, verbal, and written English communication skills.
  • Able to communicate effectively with suppliers and cross-functional teams in Asia and the US.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office skills – Excel/Word/PowerPoint is a must.
  • Quick learner, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and takes full ownership.

Nice to Have:

  • Medical device industry experience is preferred.
  • Experience in sourcing projects for Wound care products is a plus.
  • Experience working in a matrixed environment to deliver cost, quality, and service results in a timely manner.
