Job Overview:

Provide legal counsel and services in fields such as contract law, employment law, commercial law, regulatory, or compliance. Responsible for managing legal matters internally, and coordinating external legal services.

Essential Functions:

  • Review, draft, and negotiate various commercial contracts while ensuring compliance with legal and organizational policies. Monitor the contract process and participate in precontract discussions, negotiations, and changes.
  • Offer legal advice on employment law matters, collaborate with Human Resources on issues related to human capital, and monitor legal implications on discrimination, harassment, health, safety, hiring, and firing.
  • Advise on legal issues surrounding patent, copyright, trademark, real estate, and privacy concerns.
  • Analyze legal data to determine the necessity of litigation. Prepare cases for trial if settlements cannot be reached or coordinate with external counsel. Evaluate case outcomes and implement necessary changes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and JD Required.
  • Minimum 8 years of related experience, with at least 5 years in corporate law or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Strong organizational, planning, project management, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in business acumen, government regulations affecting operations, and familiar with the pharmaceutical industry and drug development processes.
  • Ability to work creatively in a fast-paced environment and exhibit sound decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Capable of working independently and building effective relationships with colleagues and clients.
