Applied Researchers for Ads Team - Guidance Advertising on eBay is a crucial driver for our sellers to boost their sales speed and an amazing growth potential for eBay. If you are enthusiastic about cutting-edge Digital Advertising and Big Data technologies AND if you have a passion for introducing new perspectives, drive, and commitment to enhance Ads on eBay, please join the Ads team at eBay China Center of Excellence (CCOE). This team's focus is on developing data / ML services for our advertising sellers, guiding them on ways to optimize their ad budget and objectives, like suggesting the right inventory, keywords and Ads bid rate for their campaigns, and ultimately automating campaigns for advertisers. Although this is a relatively new field, it has great business potential and demand. This role will allow you to work with vast amounts of data and utilize various data science techniques. We are seeking top-tier Machine Learning/Deep Learning Applied Researchers at all levels who can contribute to building the finest eCommerce Advertising Platform. Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate across different groups are encouraged. Primary Job Responsibilities:
  • Analyze big data to comprehend user behaviors and patterns and use the insights to enhance Ads experience for sellers/buyers.
  • Research and create algorithms for improved recommendation experiences for sellers/buyers.
  • Devise solutions for large-scale issues.
  • Translate business challenges into machine learning problems.
  • Develop rapid prototypes
Job Qualifications:
  • Intelligent, fast learner, and proactive.
  • Strong communication abilities and a great team player.
  • Enthusiastic about analyzing big data to enhance Ads experience.
  • Capability to work autonomously and in a team to explore innovative solutions to complex business issues.
  • Master's degree or higher in Computer Science or related field. A Ph.D. is desirable.
  • Solid analytical skills and data-driven decision-making.
  • Sound knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
  • Proficient in R, Python, Java, Scala, or C++ programming.
  • Background in data mining, machine learning, or information retrieval is essential.
  • Experience with machine learning, deep learning, natural language understanding, or other AI technologies.
