EHS&S Leader

Job Purpose:

  • Maintain and enhance site EHS&S system, ensure legal compliance, oversee daily EHS&S and lab operations to create a safe, compliant, pleasant, and productive workplace environment

Key Challenges (First 6 – 12 months):

  • Challenging EHS supervision environment
  • Dynamic EHS&S regulations and requirements
  • Diverse safety awareness and behavior among Technology, Operations, and contractor personnel
  • Varying expectations on EHS from local government, company, and community leaders

Core Responsibilities:

  • 1. EHS&S of Individual:
    • Ensure site legal compliance and EHS&S standards
    • Lead site emergency response efforts
    • Responsible for safety in designated areas
    • Oversee compliance of vendors and their activities on site
  • 2. Budget:
    • Plan, execute, track, analyze, and optimize site EHS&S and lab operation budgets
  • 3. Site EHS:
    • Engage with government and external parties on legal compliance and EHS&S matters
    • Network globally on EHS&S initiatives
    • Champion Corporate and Regional EHS improvements at the local level
  • 4. EHS Operation:
    • Lead CSC and safety subcommittees
    • Set and monitor site EHS&S goals
    • Maintain site legal compliance program
    • Conduct legal regulation reviews
    • Implement risk assessment programs... (truncated for brevity)

Key Job Requirements: (Essential qualifications and skills)

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering (safety, chemical, mechanical, electrical, etc.) or Science is REQUIRED
  • Minimum 5 years of EHS&S experience in multinational corporation settings
  • Familiarity with Office software, strong communication skills, proficiency in English writing and speaking, efficient and team-oriented work approach, Six Sigma tools experience beneficial
