This role involves managing HSBC's risk, business, and regulatory priorities, aiming to enhance the organization's risk culture by implementing policies on a global scale. Key areas include data governance, management, protection, controls, and strategy for Pinnacle.

We are currently looking for a skilled professional to join our team.

In this position, you will:

  • Oversee data governance activities to ensure compliance with laws and regulations across all geographies
  • Define data governance guidelines, procedures, and standards for HSBC and ensure their enforcement
  • Implement and enhance good data management practices
  • Establish sustainable operating models for data activities
  • Implement best practices in data management and tools
  • Manage operational risks related to data management
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address business needs in data maintenance and governance
  • Manage governance for decision-making forums and working groups
  • Supervise external service providers
  • Keep data teams informed about developments in data management practices
  • Ensure alignment of data governance office operations with methodologies in the area

This role is in the PINF Business Control and Transformation team and includes working with other data governance team members in the following areas:

  • Implementation of Data Governance Policies
  • Data Strategy and Annual Planning
  • Enhancement of Data Standards and Quality
  • Implementation of Data Privacy and Flow Management
  • Program and Assessment Implementation
  • Requirements for Project Management and PODs
  • Review and Control Implementation for Business Functions
  • Support for Data Committees
  • Additional assigned activities

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of management experience in data governance or regulatory reporting within the financial services sector
  • Strong knowledge of data management practices and regulatory compliance
  • Ability to lead data analysis and requirements gathering for data projects
  • Degree in Legal, Finance, Business Administration, Technology, or related field
  • Articulate issues concisely, communicate effectively across cultures and organizational levels
  • Proven problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of regulatory environment, relevant regulations, and HSBC Group Standards
  • Team player with accountability and commitment
  • Positive track record with Senior Executives
  • Insurance business knowledge
  • Familiarity with HSBC's strategy, organization, and processes
  • Proficiency in Mandarin and English
