About Our Client

Our client is a food importer, marketer and distributor of predominantly western style and some well-known western branded food products. It covers more than 20 brands in categories including confectionery, puffed food, chips and drinks.

Job Description

Strategy

Develop and lead a strong, growth oriented senior management team

In conjunction with the senior team, ensure the annual and 3-year business plans are executed in line with the agreed strategy

Identify product / category / channel gaps in the market and a range that will deliver incremental growth

Ensure the sales and marketing strategies account for the multiple channels (on line and off line) and territories the company operates in China.

Be an active member of the APAC group leadership team

In consultation with relevant senior staff, keep abreast of emerging market trends, estimate likely competitive challenges and actively pursue programs of 'continuous improvement' across all aspects of the business

Financials

Analysis, management and reporting of financial performance to identify strengths, weaknesses and opportunities. Development of strategies around these findings

Driving the development of processes and strategies to manage risks and enable the business to proactively respond to change

Identify profit and margin improvement programs with particular focus on innovation, strategic key product category growth, distribution and cost to serve improvements

Relationships Key Stakeholders

Develop an effective supplier relations communication program

Develop effective relationships with key customers (on line and off line)

Ensure a professional and effective working relationship with all team members, specifically with the senior management team

Develop and maintain effective relationships with the group shared services functions of People & Culture and Information Technology.

Be an active member of APAC group leadership team

Keep the Chief Executive Officer and other nominated senior executives informed of any issues which affect or could affect the group or the company

People, Safety & Compliance

Build a high-performance team by providing leadership to the team, motivating, and generating enthusiasm for innovation, exceeding targets, and providing exceptional delivery of services

Play a strong leadership role in creating and maintaining a positive organisational culture and an engaged team

Ensure the effective management of staff using contemporary human resource practices in the areas of performance management, goal setting, leadership development, professional development, succession planning and employee engagement

Ensure that a comprehensive workplace Health and Safety Management System is in place in at all sites, including induction training and safety programs. Model safe working practices and take appropriate action to rectify potential safety problems to ensure the Group meets its statutory and duties of care obligations

Ensure the company meets all the Quality Assurance standards

The Successful Applicant

Qualifications

Degree qualified Business Management or the like and/or Marketing

Skills & Experience

Minimum 7 years management experience as a Senior Manager in a fast-paced operating environment, preferably within FMCG industry in China

Strong experience and operating knowledge of on line channels in China

Skills

Demonstrated expertise in innovatively developing and implementing strategic business and financial plans, corporate and employee performance measurement systems

Highly developed skills in leadership, customer service, communication, negotiation, persuasion/influencing, co-ordination, and consultation
