Role Overview

The Field Service Engineering Specialist (FSES) serves as a vital customer-facing extension of Flowserve's digital products and automation engineering team. This role involves executing a variety of engineering and service tasks at customer sites, ensuring the safe and effective use of our products. Responsibilities include troubleshooting using FLS diagnostics, analyzing compatibility issues between FLS digital products and customer control systems (DCS, SIS, PLC), and addressing both electrical and mechanical concerns to prevent escalation of issues.

A significant aspect of the FSES role is to educate end-users and guide FLS support personnel in the correct usage of our products, minimizing user errors. When legitimate issues arise, the FSES will collect relevant data and collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to expedite problem resolution. This position is crucial for customer turnaround planning and execution, representing the highest level of field expertise on digital products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote a positive safety culture to reduce injuries and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Uphold ethical standards in accordance with Flowserve's code of conduct.
  • Act as a primary customer interface for digital products, providing education on proper installation and operation.
  • Quickly diagnose and resolve FLS digital product issues, collaborating with regional labs and global engineering teams as necessary.
  • Support sales efforts through customer and sales channel training.
  • Work within the FLS digital products community to enhance local capabilities for addressing technical challenges.
  • Oversee the installation, commissioning, and calibration of FLS digital products, ensuring optimal operation.
  • Provide technical support and training for all digital products and related software.
  • Develop strong relationships with key customers to understand their needs and identify opportunities for added value.
  • Collaborate with field technicians and engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve field issues.
  • Travel to customer locations as needed to troubleshoot and repair Flowserve products.
  • Maintain organized and accurate documentation of all activities.
  • Identify and address any Flowserve equipment or service needs proactively.
  • Complete daily Job Safety Environmental Assessments (JSEA).

Qualifications:

  • MS or BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or a related engineering field.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in technical problem-solving with systems and networks (DCS, SIS, AMS).
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
  • Strong understanding of fluid dynamics in process control environments.
  • Ability to communicate complex digital and mechanical concepts effectively.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of instrumentation and process control elements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with valve diagnostic systems and related technologies.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills.
