We are seeking a highly motivated and accomplished Materials Science professor to join our esteemed faculty at Xi an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) in Suzhou, China.
Job OverviewThis is a full-time position that involves teaching undergraduate and postgraduate modules/classes, supervising PhD, Masters and undergraduate students, as well as conducting high-quality and productive research. The successful candidate will be part of the Advanced Materials Research Center (AMRC), which is a strategic initiative for undertaking materials science and innovation.
About the DepartmentThe Chemistry Department was established in 2010 and has since delivered outstanding educational experiences to its students. It currently offers one undergraduate BSc programme in Applied Chemistry, two Master programmes in MRes in Advanced Chemistry and MRes in Materials Sciences and Engineering, and one PhD programme in Chemistry.
Responsibilities- Lead one of the three Research Themes within the AMRC: Dual Carbon Strategic Materials, Information Materials, and Frontier New Materials.
- Engage with industries and external institutions for applied materials research and innovation and knowledge transfer.
- Conduct high-quality and productive research.
- Secure internal and external research funding.
- Supervise PhD, Masters and undergraduate students.
- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate modules/classes.
- Provide administrative service to the department, school and university committees.
A PhD degree in Chemistry and/or Materials Science and Engineering is required, along with two years of postdoctoral experience and preferably a demonstrable teaching experience.
Salary and BenefitsThe salary for this position is competitive and includes various month/annual/one-off allowances, such as housing allowance, travel allowance, kids education allowance, relocation allowance, etc. Commercial insurance plans customized for XJTLU staff and family members are also provided. Paid holidays include statutory holidays, full paid holidays, family matters leave, paid sick leave, marriage leave, paternity leave, parental leave, etc. Working visa and residence permit in China are sponsored by XJTLU.
