Job Summary

TE Connectivity's Manufacturing Engineering Teams serve as the driving force behind stamping, molding, and assembly processes, ensuring optimal performance in terms of quality and output. These teams are proficient in mold tooling, die tooling, machining, and assembly methodologies, with a comprehensive understanding of the relevant manufacturing processes. This includes the enhancement and standardization of stamping, molding, assembly, and other operations within the manufacturing setting.

The Manufacturing Engineering Teams empower TE business unit plants to achieve TE Operating Advantage (TEOA) standards, implement Centers of Excellence (COE), and share Best Demonstrated Practices (BDP's). They provide guidance on tool and machine duplication, corrections, and enhancements. Additionally, they design and develop manufacturing processes and automation systems, applying these innovations to new product developments and the optimization of existing products.

The teams also collaborate with Product Development to select and optimize tools for piece part production, ensuring the most suitable manufacturing concepts are chosen based on anticipated production volumes, quality standards, and manufacturing locations. They act as a bridge between engineering and production, ensuring the manufacturability of new designs and facilitating smooth production ramp-ups. Furthermore, they support research and development teams in creating sample manufacturing equipment, product samples, and prototypes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee manufacturing engineering in assembly processes, focusing on sustainability and continuous improvement to meet targets.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including manufacturing, planning, quality, and engineering.
  • Translate project specifications into manufacturable processes, serving as the technical interface for new project introductions.
  • Assess equipment requirements and conduct technical and manufacturing feasibility reviews, including modifications for EHS safety compliance.
  • Develop assembly processes, create Bill of Materials (BOM), and prepare relevant manufacturing documentation, including process flows, PFMEA, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
  • Conduct equipment qualifications and finalize assembly line releases.
  • Provide ongoing manufacturing support and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Implement continuous improvements to processes, procedures, and products to achieve cost-saving objectives.
  • Standardize practices and document lessons learned for ongoing enhancements.
  • Ensure all process modifications are controlled and documented according to established procedures, with formal communication of changes to all relevant operators.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints with effective solutions within business requirements.
  • Ensure that technicians and operators receive proper training and adhere to the correct procedures.
  • Take ownership of personal development and growth.
