Job Summary

TE Connectivity's Manufacturing Engineering Teams serve as the driving force for stamping, molding, and assembly processes, ensuring optimal performance in terms of quality and output. These teams are specialists in mold tooling, die tooling, machining, and assembly methodologies, with comprehensive knowledge of the manufacturing processes involved. Their role includes the optimization and standardization of stamping, molding, assembly, and other processes within the manufacturing landscape.

The Manufacturing Engineering Teams empower TE business unit plants to meet TE Operating Advantage (TEOA) standards, implement Centers of Excellence (COE), and share Best Demonstrated Practices (BDP's). They provide guidance on tool and machine duplications, corrections, and enhancements. Additionally, they design and develop manufacturing processes and automation systems, applying these innovations to new product developments and the optimization of existing products in production.

These teams also collaborate with Product Development to select and optimize tools for piece part production, ensuring the most suitable manufacturing concepts are chosen based on anticipated manufacturing volumes, quality standards, and production locations. They act as a crucial link between engineering and production, ensuring the manufacturability of new designs and facilitating smooth production ramp-ups. Furthermore, they support research and development teams in producing sample manufacturing equipment, product samples, and prototypes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee manufacturing engineering in assembly processes, focusing on sustainability and continuous improvement to meet targets.
  • Serve as the interface for engineering regarding new project introductions from a technical standpoint.
  • Conduct equipment requirements assessments and technical feasibility reviews, including EHS safety compliance and design specifications.
  • Develop assembly processes, create Bills of Materials (BOM), and relevant documentation for manufacturing, including process flows, PFMEA, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
  • Execute equipment qualifications and finalize assembly line releases.
  • Provide ongoing manufacturing support and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Implement continuous improvements to processes, procedures, and products to achieve cost-saving objectives.
  • Standardize practices and document lessons learned for ongoing enhancement.
  • Ensure all process modifications are controlled and documented according to established procedures, with formal communication of changes to all relevant personnel.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints with effective solutions within business requirements.
  • Ensure that technicians and operators receive proper training and adhere to the correct procedures.
  • Take ownership of personal development and growth.
