Xi an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) is a young, dynamic university founded in 2006. We are a unique collaborative institution and the first joint-venture university in China to offer both UK (University of Liverpool) and Chinese (Ministry of Education) accredited undergraduate degrees for 103 programmes.

We are located in the Higher Education Town of Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP), which is a major growth zone with operations run by nearly one-fifth of the Fortune 500 top global companies. Greater Suzhou is now the fourth largest concentration of economic activity in China in terms of GDP.
Job Description
We are seeking a Research Scientist to join our Department of Applied Mathematics. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting high-quality research, leading to publications in top journals. They will also actively attract external research funding, supervise PhD students and undergraduate student projects, teach undergraduate and postgraduate students in English, and contribute to the functioning of the department and school.
The typical workload balance is research:teaching:service is 40:40:20. The ideal candidate will have a PhD in Mathematics or Applied Mathematics, two years of full-time postdoctoral experience with demonstrable teaching experience, international experience in higher education, and fluency in English.
For senior positions, we are looking for candidates with a minimum of eight years of full-time academic experience and excellence in academic achievements. They should have broad international experience in higher education, demonstrable experience in curriculum development, and extensive experience in student supervision.
Benefits
Members of Academic Staff are entitled to subsidies for accommodation, travel, and children s educational, medical insurance. Overseas staff may receive a tax holiday, depending on nationality and personal circumstances.
Compensation Package
The estimated salary for this position is $80,000-$120,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. This figure is based on industry standards for similar positions in the location and the level of responsibility associated with the role.
