About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Boarding and Primary Subject Teacher to join our team at an international school in Shenzhen. This is a full-time position starting from the upcoming academic year in August 2024.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the school's boarding facilities while also teaching primary school subjects. As a key figure in students' academic and residential life, you will ensure a supportive and educational environment both inside and outside the classroom.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach primary school subjects, including English, science, social studies, personal and social class, math, and homeroom sessions, to ensure an engaging and enriching learning experience
  • Prepare lessons and lectures, develop tutoring techniques, design and correct assessments, and write report comments
  • Collaborate with fellow educators to develop and enhance the school's curriculum
  • Assess and monitor students' progress, providing targets to ensure all learners can succeed and improve
  • Provide clear and constructive feedback to students and their parents and caregivers
  • Develop supportive and safe learning environments
  • Manage boarding student well-being in support of academic excellence
  • Pastoral policy making and system development for boarding staff
  • People management and capacity building of boarding staff
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding all matters relating to boarding
  • Lead on developing an outstanding boarding curriculum and English reading program for each grade level in boarding
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or above
  • Appropriate degree with primary education teacher training (in English language education) internationally recognized, or other equivalent teaching qualification
  • At least 2 years of relevant teaching experience
  • Excellent communication English skills
  • Eligible to apply for a working visa
