We are seeking a seasoned Curriculum Development Coordinator and Head of General Studies to spearhead academic programs at an esteemed international school in Shenzhen. This is a full-time position commencing in August 2024.

About our school

Our international school is situated in the Nanshan Zone, boasting an expansive 14,700 square meter campus that offers a superior IGCSE and A Level international curriculum. With a capacity to accommodate up to 900 students, the campus features superior resources for Early Years to Sixth Form, including boarding services, sports and recreational grounds, a library, common rooms, cafeterias, and lecture halls.

Key Responsibilities

Program Oversight and Curriculum Development

  • Ensure alignment with the foundation curriculum and curriculum articulation.
  • Direct curriculum and assist teachers in planning and directing learning across subject groups and core content areas.

Curriculum Implementation and Support

  • Develop school special needs and assessment policies.
  • Conduct parent workshops on program overview and support strategies.
  • Implement and adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to ensure a safe and stimulating learning environment.

Staff Development and Communication

  • Tailor instruction to meet diverse student needs, integrating information technology into instruction where appropriate.
  • Adhere to behavioral standards and comply with health and safety policies.
  • Develop students' self-esteem, maintaining regular communication with parents and community involvement.

Professional Growth and Teamwork

  • Set an example, attending school meetings and development activities.
  • Maintain subject knowledge, participate in continuing professional development.
  • Respect colleagues' needs, maintain team cohesion, and contribute to the efficient running of the school.

Initiatives and Professionalism

  • Lead new school initiatives and respond constructively to self-evaluation reviews.
  • Develop IT skills in line with the school's digital learning strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or above.
  • Appropriate degree with primary education teacher training in English language education or other equivalent teaching qualification.
  • At least 2 years of relevant teaching experience.
  • Excellent communication English skills.
  • Eligibility for a working visa.
