Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Senior Investment Officer to join our Public Sector Clients Department, Region 2 (PSC2). The successful candidate will be responsible for the origination, structuring, and execution of infrastructure-related Public Sector transactions, with a focus on urban development, water supply and sanitation, and/or water resource management subsectors.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure key economic, financial, technical, legal, environmental, and social issues are considered in project preparation and financing structure.
- Participate in overseeing the implementation of AIIB's investment operations to enhance quality and accelerate project implementation.
- Lead or participate in dialogue with clients, co-financing partners, and other stakeholders on strategic issues and investment implementation.
- Advise clients on the preparation of technical and feasibility studies, and technical design of projects, leading to investment prioritization and cost-effective solutions.
- Conduct project risk assessment and advise project teams on mitigation strategies to manage such risks.
- Minimum 8-10 years of relevant working experience in the urban development, Water supply and sanitation, and/or water Resource Management sector.
- Extensive experience in designing and implementing projects, including the integration of nature-based solutions, with a strong understanding of diverse project modalities to enhance project viability and long-term sustainability.
- Proven experience in structuring and managing climate finance projects for resilient water supply, sanitation (WSS) and water resource management infrastructure projects and programs, in line with multilateral development bank (MDB) common principles for climate mitigation and adaptation finance.
