Senior Apparel Development Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Apparel Development Manager to join our team at Adidas. As a key member of our product development team, you will be responsible for leading the development process to ensure on-time delivery of high-quality products that meet our brand's standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Design, and Suppliers, to drive the end-to-end development process.
  • Ensure product design aligns with our brand's target FOB and GIM targets are achieved by conducting predictive cost analysis, validating and approving T1 costing sheets in compliance with Adidas costing standards, and negotiating with T1 to provide cost-saving solutions.
  • Lead the development process to ensure on-time prototypes/3D samples are created, delivering desired design intent, aesthetics, functionality, and manufacturability.
  • Evaluate all prototypes in compliance with AD and workmanship standards, and evaluate 3D samples in compliance with 3D assert quality standards.
  • Manage systems (FlexPLM/Creation Portal) to ensure accurate product information is delivered to T1, and accurate data is entered by T1, including BOM, costing, or other data as required.
  • Ensure all materials and prototypes are tested and adhere to Adidas quality, safety, and A01 standards, and manage quality exceptions with senior management as needed prior to Buy Ready.
  • Continuously research innovations from the market and stay current on manufacturing innovations to translate them into product creation.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong technical expertise in garment construction, testing requirements, and material knowledge.
  • Effective communication and influencing skills, with fluency in English (written and spoken).
  • Strong IT skills (MS Office and Adobe Illustrator) and ability to work with Product Data Management Systems.
  • Proficient knowledge of virtual creation/3D CLO or equivalent 3D software, with strong visual skills and ability to transfer design ideas into digital files that factories can produce garments from.

Requisite Education and Experience/Minimum Qualifications:

  • College or University degree in clothing technology and/or manufacturing or comparable education.
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in the garment/textile industry.
