Technical Apparel Specialist

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure technical pack accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide technical support during seasonal development trips and on-site meetings with factories.

Technical Training and Development

  • Deliver induction training for new suppliers on pattern systems and quality standards.
  • Conduct advanced technical training and workshops for suppliers on a timely basis.

Team Management and Leadership

  • Lead the fit/technical team in the China region, managing performance and ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Sample Approval and Quality Assurance

  • Manage sealing and size set approval for fit, measurement, and workmanship within development and operational deadlines.
  • Ensure final measurement chart approval before bulk production.

Improving Sample Quality and Approval Rates

  • Review products at the proto stage, identifying potential production issues and providing preventative measures.
  • Prepare sample evaluation summaries on a seasonal basis.
  • Work with garment suppliers to improve sample KPI performance.
  • Travel to China factories to review sampling performance and provide guidance.
  • Analyze customer returns to derive root causes and develop corrective action plans.

Additional Responsibilities

Carry out assignments as directed by the Technical Development Apparel Sourcing Teamhead.

Requirements
  • University degree or equivalent in textile/garment technology.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the textile/garment industry, with a proven track record in managing sample review teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Pattern making and craftsmanship qualifications and experience in relevant product categories.
  • Able to work independently and effectively under pressure.
  • Adaptable to a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently with a proactive mindset.
  • Knowledge of Gerber Accumark and Browzwear 3D V-stitcher is an advantage.
  • Strong team player with excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
