Maintenance and Reliability Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE): Ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations, including Covestro SHE, Security, and Manufacturing Standards, as well as ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
  • Safeguard information security during operations.

Manufacturing Excellence:

  • Establish the optimal Preventive and Predictive Maintenance (PPM) Program in alignment with Business Unit and Manufacturing objectives.
  • Translate the PPM strategy into a localized maintenance plan that reflects the overall maintenance strategy.
  • Regularly review and enhance PPM plans to ensure effectiveness.
  • Analyze and select the best PPM strategies to minimize reliability and integrity failures, determining the appropriate frequency and timing for executing PPM plans.
  • Propose improvement initiatives to enhance plant processes and procedures or submit work notifications to the Maintenance Work Process.
  • Maintain, review, and update the equipment master data, ensuring accurate equipment listings.
  • Group equipment into relevant categories and suggest typical PPM plan solutions.
  • Lead and facilitate the Criticality Ranking of plant equipment.
  • Conduct Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Review maintenance feedback on equipment repairs and PPM maintenance orders.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to identify causes of reliability-related performance issues and cost drivers.
  • Participate in projects aimed at defining PPM plans for equipment.
  • Input integrated PPM plans into the Maintenance Management System.
  • Document jobs executed in the maintenance management system.
  • Gather relevant data and information, including KPIs, costs, and maintenance history, to assess losses due to maintenance.
  • Enhance user knowledge and ownership by providing training to production personnel.
  • Prepare proposals for improving equipment reliability.
  • Document, file, and communicate solutions effectively.
  • Define, review, monitor, and update critical spare parts inventory.
  • Implement SHE and Quality policies in compliance with corporate requirements and relevant regulations.
  • Identify reliability risks in change proposals (Management of Change).
  • Share outcomes and best practices with fellow reliability engineers.
  • Enforce safety protocols by addressing unsafe acts immediately.
  • Investigate significant accidents within the plant to determine root causes and implement preventive measures.
  • Monitor contractor performance in designated responsibility areas.
  • Ensure high-quality information related to represented disciplines.
  • Contribute to a multidisciplinary team process.
  • Ensure quality in redesign and allocation decisions and reporting.
  • Make cost-effective decisions without compromising process safety.
  • Maintain a balanced, multidisciplinary composition within the allocation team.
  • Ensure quality in Safety Requirements Specifications (SRS).
  • Ensure quality in verification and validation processes.
  • Timely schedule testing of classified safety devices.
  • Maintain high standards for testing protocols and instructions.
  • Ensure trained personnel are available to execute tests.
  • Maintain plant integrity.
  • Comply with all SHE and Security management policies and regulations.
  • Actively participate in SHE and Security management training to enhance awareness.
  • Provide proactive advice on SHE and Security management to superiors.
  • Report any significant SHE and Security risks to superiors immediately.

Manufacturing Role:

  • Focus on Preventive and Predictive Maintenance.
  • Act as Plan Owner.

PSLC Role:

  • Participate as a HAZOP team member.
  • Chair Machine Safety Assessments.
  • Validate mechanical safety provisions.

Authority and Collaboration:

  • Proactively engage with departments to resolve reliability issues.
  • Continuously develop and maintain specific technical competencies.

Value Addition:
Contribute to the success of the company by ensuring equipment reliability, thereby facilitating smooth production operations and minimizing downtime.

Work Relationships:
Collaborate with SHE, Quality, Maintenance, IP, Project, and Warehouse teams.

Qualifications:

  • Maintenance Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of maintenance techniques.
  • Relevant Experience: Broad knowledge of related manufacturing disciplines.
  • Managerial and Social Skills: Strong communication and advisory capabilities.
  • English Proficiency: Competent in reading and writing.

Education:
University degree or higher in a technical field.
