Job Description

We are recruiting an Industrial Engineer (Apparel) to join our capacity and costing team in H&M Shanghai office. As an Industrial Engineer, you will be responsible for determining our Standard Minute Value (SMV) and ensuring that right labor cost and production efficiency through manufacture excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Secure our business growth in an efficient way by validating the right capacity with our local and regional suppliers.
  • Assess supplier efficiency and review production processes to help suppliers improve SMV and efficiency connected to manufacture excellence.
  • Interact regularly with business teams, external suppliers, and colleagues based locally and globally for business development.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in IE-related roles in the textile industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of SMV/GSD, with GSD/GST certification holder preferred.
  • Good capability of making garment operation breakdowns.
  • Quick speed in calculation SMV on products.
  • High accuracy of calculation results.
  • Good understanding of factory production and garment making processes for woven/knit/UW.
  • Understanding of garment cost structure and calculation.
  • Excel skills and ability to build or modify tools.
  • Strong analytical thinking and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to build trust and collaboration among internal and external stakeholders.

What You Need to Succeed

You will be someone who is thorough in industrial engineering subject matter to establish strong collaboration with our supplier base for their capability development in productivity. You should be comfortable working with our suppliers as the ambassador of H&M to conduct time studies and establish a database for costing and work content analysis. You need to have good communication skills with an entrepreneurial spirit to drive our suppliers in the same direction for achieving business goals.

Additional Information

This is a full-time position, starting as soon as possible according to the agreement. The role is an on-site position, based in our office in Shanghai, China. Apply by sending in your CV in English as soon as possible.
