Job Title: Senior Legal Expert

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Legal Expert to join our team at Manulife. As a key member of our wealth legacy team, you will be responsible for providing legal advice and guidance to our clients, as well as assisting with the development and implementation of legal strategies to support our business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on wealth legacy matters, including estate planning, trusts, and wills.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of legal strategies to support business growth, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other corporate transactions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate legal risks, and to develop and implement compliance programs.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations, and provide guidance to clients and internal stakeholders on their implications.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.

Requirements:

  • Law degree from a reputable university, with a strong background in corporate law and wealth management.
  • At least 7 years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal role, with a proven track record of providing high-quality legal advice and guidance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
