Role Overview:

Purpose of the Position: Oversee the Supplier Business Review process with engagement from Executive Champions to ensure alignment on commercial and development strategies between the organization and key suppliers.

Primary Objectives of this Position:

Implement cost reduction initiatives through high-level negotiations and establish supply agreements to achieve exceptional cost, quality, and timing; Provide essential Purchasing/commercial support to facilities in China; Utilize relevant technical specifications and collaborate with key suppliers to identify optimal trade-offs for the lowest total cost solution through the TQCM initiative; Develop and execute commodity strategies to deliver maximum competitive advantage; Conduct benchmarking, rationalization, development, and management of critical and strategic suppliers; Evaluate and select suppliers, and manage relationships; Implement best-in-class sourcing processes to secure sourcing nominations of optimal total cost solutions to support programs, through regional/global supplier quotations, negotiations, and effective contract management; Identify new technologies and suppliers to provide the organization with a competitive edge.

Key Performance Metrics:

Propel the Company Purchasing Strategies / Decisions to Joint Ventures in China Balance risks to achieve the lowest material costs within stringent deadlines Support Commodity bid lists, monitor supplier performance, and source new business Assist in new business pursuits and maintain a database of key supplier technology capabilities

Year One Deliverables:

Acquire knowledge and leverage modern purchasing tools and techniques to successfully implement cost reduction activities Collaborate with suppliers or Joint Ventures to devise innovative solutions to maximize benefits and secure long-term agreements (LTAs) with key strategic partners Work closely with Buyers and Engineering teams globally to gather market intelligence from customers regarding pricing, technology, and competitor benchmarking activities

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:

Bachelor’s Degree, preferably a Master’s in Electronics Engineering or a related field Over 5 years in significant roles within an international business context and procurement/purchasing leadership experience, with electrical components purchasing experience being advantageous; Proven expertise in category strategies; Value Chain analysis (VAVE, TQCM) and Supplier evaluation/selection; Strong negotiation and presentation skills; Advanced interpersonal skills and experience in multidisciplinary and cross-functional teams; Proficient in the Microsoft suite of applications; Fluent in business English, with strong presentation and writing skills; proficiency in a second foreign language is a plus.
