Piping Specialist

Lloyd's Register is seeking a highly skilled Piping Specialist to join our team. As a Piping Specialist, you will be responsible for performing complex assessments and providing specialist advice for service delivery, research, or development work within agreed broad parameters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform complex assessments and provide specialist advice for service delivery, research, or development work within agreed broad parameters.
- Produce deliverables within agreed broad parameters in an appropriate format and take responsibility for reviewing other employees' work as requested.
- Discuss/present deliverables with internal/external clients at a senior level and suggest alternative solutions where appropriate.
- Undertake administration as required in line with current processes and procedures.
- Assess/recommend the time/value of work to be undertaken for internal/external clients within an agreed fee/cost structure and within commercial aspects of the contract.
- Make recommendations based on internal/external client feedback to assist in service delivery improvement and help build the business.
- Contribute to internal/external client management as appropriate. Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards.
- Pursue Continuous Professional Development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
- Mentor/coach other technical employees to achieve effective technical knowledge transfer and application.
- Undertake project management where applicable, including monitoring project progress and spend against budget and contract requirements.
- Perform plan appraisal in accordance with LR Rules and Regulations, Corporate, Regional & Country O&P Manual requirements, relevant Statutory Regulations, and all applicable codes, conventions, and standards for New Construction and/or existing ship contracts.
- Monitor revisions to statutory, Rules, and Flag requirements and apply these revisions as appropriate.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or above in Marine Engineering from a recognized university or equivalent.
- 10+ years' working experience of machinery or piping design of merchant ships or design appraisal in a Classification society.
- Proficiency in the English language commensurate with the work.
- Knowledge and experience of finite element analysis techniques is desirable but not essential.
- Good team-work and hardworking spirits.
- Good communication skills.
