Job Title: System Design Engineer

Locations: Shanghai - China

Role Profile

We are seeking a highly skilled System Design Engineer to join our team at Goltens. As a key player in our design team, you will be responsible for designing marine application fluid system pipe work and operating 3D Nupas Cadmatic design software to produce detailed drawings from 3D laser scans of engine rooms and machinery spaces.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop efficient and high-quality fluid system pipe work for marine applications
  • Operate 3D Nupas Cadmatic design software to produce detailed drawings from 3D laser scans
  • Present design services and technical/operational reasoning on systems to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure all designs meet applicable Environmental and Health & Safety rules in force from IMO or Class
  • Collaborate with the team to achieve project goals and objectives
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Marine System Design or Marine Architecture
  • At least 3 years' practical experience in system design or a similar relevant discipline
  • Basic knowledge of Ballast Water Treatment Systems and IMO Regulations
  • Excellent coordination and problem-solving capabilities
  • Good command of English language, both written and spoken
  • Experience of writing technical reports in English and Chinese
