Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Medical Communications function in China. As a key member of our global team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing medical content strategies to support our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with international category medical leads and global medical content teams to ensure China content needs are aligned with global plans.
  • Collaborate with global medical channel excellence teams to activate and optimize relevant medical channels in China.
  • Work with field medical excellence teams to ensure all content for field medical colleagues is pulled through from the global team.
  • Partner with medical analytics groups to measure the impact of medical channel content initiatives in China and share learnings with the international content team.
Leadership and Management
  • Lead the creation and adaptation of medical channel content in China across the Pfizer portfolio, providing functional and subject matter expertise.
  • Partner with Chinese medical leadership teams to design and deliver local medical channel content strategies to optimize the engagement and reach of emerging Pfizer scientific data.
  • Lead the global-to-local localization and adaptation of priority global medical content assets to support critical scientific data releases for assigned countries.
  • Manage all country medical content requests, identifying opportunities for re-use and managing demand for in-house and external content creation resources.
Talent Development and Leadership
  • Recognize and nurture talent, supporting the development needs of colleagues and creating opportunities for growth within the MEI platform and other parts of the organization.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to colleagues on relevant Pfizer SOPs and guidance documents.
Operational Excellence
  • Lead the in-country implementation of the new MCC operating model and ways of working to enable medical to communicate a consistent global scientific narrative across our portfolio.
  • Strive for continuous improvements in our operating model, championing innovation and establishing new projects and ways of working that advance the vision of the MEI platform within medical affairs.
Requirements
  • Advanced scientific or healthcare degree required (MD, PharmD, PhD, MS, etc.).
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in the healthcare/pharmaceutical sector for BA/BS holders, 8 years for MBA/MS holders, 6 years for PharmD/PhD holders, and 3 years for MD holders.
  • Proven leadership skills, including leadership across the matrix and managing junior staff.
  • Proven ability to influence without authority.
  • Excellent collaboration and communications skills.
  • Ability to operate with ambiguity, forging new ways forward.
  • Mindset of continuous improvement, using data to inform strategy and decision making.
  • Excellent understanding of the changing healthcare environment and the rapid advancement of digital technology in healthcare and medical communications.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent prioritization and time management ability.
  • Medical Affairs experience working in China.
  • Experience working on complex digital projects to engage HCPs.
  • Strong written and oral skills in English and fluent written and oral skills in local language.
