About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Engineer - Civil to join our team at Wacker. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for leading and managing complex civil engineering projects from conception to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead interdisciplinary project teams to deliver high-quality civil engineering projects on time and within budget.
  • Support the Civil/Project/Engineering Manager in developing and implementing project strategies, including investment project and plant maintenance.
  • Prepare and lead project design basis and scope, including user requirement collection, technology selection, design specification preparation, and design drawing input and review.
  • Participate in project HAZOP and EHSS reviews, providing necessary inputs and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Provide cost estimation and project scheduling support, analyzing project costs and schedules for accuracy and completeness.
  • Interact with construction and site personnel to ensure project execution according to plans, communicating changes, deviations, and progress to team members.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to resolve construction problems and represent the owner's interests in the project.
  • Accompany project close-out, establishing punch lists and acceptance protocols, and participating in lessons learned sessions.
  • Search for opportunities to improve project performance and reduce investment costs throughout all project phases.
  • Establish local know-how in the relevant discipline and share with other/new project members/teams.
  • Perform daily and preventative maintenance work in the field of civil, including vendor selection, contractor appraisal, work permit approval, and maintenance quality/safety/schedule management.
  • Support technical procurement for the preparation of technical specifications and BOQ, attending bidding clarification meetings, and vendor nomination.
  • Manage EHSS during project execution and maintenance activities.

Requirements:

  • Minimum educational background: Bachelor's degree or above with a major in civil engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years of working experience in the field of civil engineering.
  • Working experience in the field of civil engineering in chemical or other industry projects.
  • Working experience as a project manager or in a similar role.
  • Working experience with civil facility maintenance, decoration, and lab projects would be an asset.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Effective communication skills in English (oral and writing) are mandatory.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Familiarity with project engineering practices and project management procedures.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, official specifications, regulations, and technical instructions.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, CAD, and SAP would be an asset.
  • Strong communication, decision-making, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Good organizational and analytical abilities.
  • Presentation skills and ability to manage conflicting priorities.
  • Strong spirit of teamwork and willingness to continuously build knowledge and broaden skills.
  • High flexibility, responsiveness, and open-mindedness.
  • Ability and willingness for domestic travel.
