Job Summary
The Pastry Chef de Partie is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of cooks and kitchen staff. This role requires creativity and attention to detail to create visually appealing food displays and ensure proper portioning and presentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and presentation.
- Create decorative food displays and ensure proper portioning and garnish.
- Monitor food quantities and inform Food & Beverage service staff of menu specials and out of stock items.
- Prepare special meals and substitute items as needed.
- Assist cooks and kitchen staff with various tasks and provide necessary items.
- Monitor kitchen supplies and food stock, and maintain kitchen logs for food safety programs.
- Ensure the quality of food items and notify management if a product does not meet specifications.
- Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating employees.
- Follow company and safety policies and procedures, and report maintenance needs, accidents, and injuries.
Requirements
- Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.
- Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
- Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.
