We are seeking a highly skilled Renewable Energy Storage Specialist to join our team in Shanghai or Guangzhou.

Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for undertaking Manufacturer Bankability Assessments and performing Technology Evaluations to assess compliance to standards and fire safety. You will also review technical aspects of energy storage projects to identify risks, engineering design issues, and contractual non-compliances.

You will support project procurement processes, including technology comparison, Employer's Requirements, and contract negotiations. Additionally, you will undertake site visits to construction and operational renewable energy sites, conduct construction monitoring, witness commissioning and testing, and sign off milestones.

You will nurture customer relationships, create proposals for new opportunities, and manage projects through to timely completion. Furthermore, you will work with DNV counterparts across the world to ensure we are abreast of global issues related to all energy storage aspects of renewable projects.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering or technical degree qualification – preferably electrical engineering
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of energy storage systems
  • Project development or EPC and O&M experience with energy storage and/or renewables
  • Understanding of necessary standards, codes, and regulations for BESS system design, installation, operation, maintenance, and decommissioning
  • Knowledge of Australian transmission & distribution networks
  • Experience and expertise in the Australian energy market and the role that energy storage can play in the market
  • Good understanding of commercial basis for projects
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong competence in proposal & report writing, ensuring clear and accurate reports are produced
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, relationship, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to handle complex technical problems and guide individuals through these
  • Experience of building long-term client relationships
  • Ability to juggle and manage conflicting work priorities to ensure deadlines are met
  • Ability to work effectively with colleagues in a team environment; shares knowledge, experience, and information; and supports others in pursuit of team goals
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and creativity
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel
Physical Abilities Required
  • Normal office environment, involving regular walking, sitting, bending, twisting, standing, and reaching
  • Some domestic and international travel to other company office locations, site locations, client offices, and conferences
  • Occasional work outdoors, including site visits, travelling by car up to six hours, and walking on uneven terrain
