Job Summary

Onto Innovation is a leader in process control, combining global scale with an expanded portfolio of leading-edge technologies. We are seeking a highly skilled Field Applications Engineer to provide technical applications support for the development and implementation of our products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support for the development and implementation of Onto products to meet customer requirements.
  • Assist sales staff in assessing potential applications of our products to meet customer needs.
  • Work on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.
  • Collaborate with different groups in headquarters, including services, product management, sales, and management, for projects and activities.
Requirements
  • Determining the feasibility of Onto products to provide solutions to a wide variety of customer requirements.
  • Generating detailed professional reports summarizing application feasibility/solutions.
  • Working with sales managers and customers to accurately determine and document project requirements.
  • Supporting new application development by working with various groups within the company to define and develop new product capabilities.
  • Working independently for troubleshooting recipes and meeting customer requirements.
  • Generating variation reports for tool install updates, issue reports, and training materials.
  • Providing weekly base updates and tool status updates.
  • Availability for training customers and end-users for operation and advanced applications of Onto tools.
  • Establishing, developing, and maintaining positive relationships with semiconductor customers to identify new business opportunities.
  • Sharing customer information and competitor information with the company.
  • Business travel required at least 50%.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or above in Semiconductor technology, Electronic, Computer Science, Mechatronic Engineering, or related field.
  • 2-3 years of working experience with vendors or Fab PIE, QA, YE; AOI working experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Linux, SQL, Oracle is a plus.
  • Fluent English speaking, writing, and listening, with CET-6 certificate is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and good report writing skills.
  • Hard working with team spirit.
