Job Summary

Onto Innovation is a leader in process control, combining global scale with an expanded portfolio of leading-edge technologies. We are seeking a highly skilled Field Applications Engineer to provide technical applications support for the development and implementation of our products to meet customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist sales staff in assessing potential applications of our products to meet customer needs.
  • Provide follow-up support in disseminating technical information on specific applications.
  • Work on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.
  • Lead work teams and provide guidance on technical matters.
  • Communicate frequently with various groups in headquarters, including services, product management, sales, and management, for projects and activities.
Job Requirements
  • Determine the feasibility of our products to provide solutions to a wide variety of customer requirements.
  • Generate detailed professional reports summarizing application feasibility/solutions.
  • Work with sales managers and customers to accurately determine and document project requirements.
  • Support new application development by working with various groups within the company to define and develop new product capabilities.
  • Work independently for troubleshooting recipes and meeting customer requirements.
  • Generate variation reports for tool installation updates, issue reports, and training materials.
  • Provide weekly base updates and tool status updates.
  • Offer training to customers and end-users for operation and advanced applications of our tools.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with semiconductor customers to identify new business opportunities.
  • Share customer information and competitor information with the company.
  • Business travel is required at least 50%.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or above in Semiconductor Technology, Electronic, Computer Science, Mechatronic Engineering, or related fields.
  • 2-3 years of working experience with vendors or Fab PIE, QA, YE; AOI working experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Linux, SQL, Oracle is a plus.
  • Fluent English speaking, writing, and listening, with CET-6 certificate is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and good report writing skills.
  • Hardworking with a team spirit.
