Your Role:

  • Design and develop robust, secure, and scalable systems within a microservices architecture.
  • Create, test, and maintain systems that accurately reflect the intricate realities of logistics, including shippers, clients, cargo, and carriers.
  • Engage with top-tier engineers to tackle complex business and technical challenges.
  • Lead significant projects while coordinating with various stakeholders, ensuring successful phased rollouts.
  • Work closely with business partners and product managers to translate complex business issues into effective technical solutions.
  • Rapidly build and deploy products, with frequent updates to production.
  • Play a vital role in mentoring fellow engineers, sharing knowledge on industry trends and best practices.
  • Maintain high standards for product quality, proactively addressing potential issues through metrics and learnings.
  • Address intricate system-level challenges, focusing on simplicity and sustainable design.
  • Engage in discussions about shipping and logistics, sharing insights and knowledge.

Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:

  • 5+ years of software development experience with a solid engineering foundation.
  • 3+ years of experience in design and architecture, with knowledge of object-oriented analysis and design patterns.
  • Experience in building large-scale, high-performance systems in a distributed environment.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, Kotlin, Ruby, Python, or C++.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A passion for clean, well-tested code that is easy to maintain and extend.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • The ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to business partners and team members.
  • Experience in delivering large projects across multiple teams, with a focus on collaboration and strategic alignment.
  • Understanding of performance trade-offs and operational challenges.
  • Proven ability to mentor junior engineers across various aspects of software development.
  • Familiarity with professional software engineering practices, including coding standards, code reviews, and continuous deployment.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field is a plus.
