About the Role

Synaptics is seeking a highly skilled Staff Hardware Engineer to join our dynamic and growing organization. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for WLAN/BT hardware tasks related to chipset bringup and performance optimization. This includes hardware and RF-related data collection, performance fine-tuning, and collaboration with other design function teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed test plans to ensure signal integrity and connectivity for all phases of product testing and certification, including bench and certification lab testing.
  • Deliver regulatory and commercial certifications for connectivity, such as FCC, Wi-Fi Alliance, and BT SIG.
  • Partner with development engineers to debug and diagnose issues.
  • Work cross-functionally with other Validation and Test teams to troubleshoot issues and review test plans.
  • Assist in developing libraries and test cases using a Python framework.

Requirements

  • Specification-level understanding of at least one wireless technology, such as cellular, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth.
  • Previous product experience in WiFi or BT technologies.
  • Proactive, self-starter with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment to complete projects on time with minimal guidance.
  • Well-organized with strong attention to detail, ensuring work is accurate.
  • Positive attitude and work ethic, with the ability to ask questions and explore new ideas.
  • Resourceful and able to solve complex problems through adapting technology and a solid understanding of product architecture.
  • Ability to work with dynamic, geographically distributed teams, with a passion for becoming part of cross-functional teams as necessary to ensure testability.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
