About the Role


We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance and Data Privacy expert to join our team at ZF Group in Shanghai, China.


The successful candidate will act as 'go-to person' for various legal entities, providing Compliance and Data Privacy advice and taking an active part in supporting relevant projects and activities.


Key Responsibilities



  • Implement and enhance the Compliance Management System within the Compliance and Data Privacy team;
  • Advise business functions on concrete Compliance and Data Privacy issues;
  • Steer and manage projects on Compliance and Data Privacy;
  • Advise business function on concrete implementation tasks on Compliance and Data Privacy for risk mitigation;
  • Educate target-specific groups on Compliance and Data Privacy matters;
  • Manage the group-wide Data Protection Management System;
  • Advise and supervise business units with national and international Compliance / Data Privacy regulations;
  • Assess new digital business projects and processing operations for data protection requirements;
  • SUPPORT BUSINESS UNITS ON ALL DATA PROTECTION MATTERS AND IMPLEMENT THE RIGHT SOLUTIONS;
  • Assess personal data breaches and data subjects' requests and are involved in the respective response activities thereto;
  • Promote a culture of Compliance and Data Privacy across our division and familiarize its business units of their obligations;
  • Be part of the further development of Compliance and Data Privacy within Chassis System & Modules Business Group.

About You


To succeed in this role, you will need:



  • A successfully completed studies in the field of law, business, IT or similar;
  • Minimum 5 years (the more the better) of professional Compliance and Data Privacy experience in an international environment;
  • In-depth understanding of the international Data Privacy regulatory environment, in particular the EU GDPR;
  • Good capability in evaluating and balancing risks with business needs and processes;
  • Understanding of data-driven businesses;
  • Understanding AI, IT Systems & cloud environments;
  • Ability to understand market and business needs while safeguarding privacy compliance;
  • Fluent English skills, further languages may be a benefit;
  • Confident appearance in negotiations and strong communication skills.

What We Offer


We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on your experience and qualifications.
