You will also lead and direct the middle school band program, ensuring the band program meets both curricular and extracurricular goals.
Key Responsibilities:- Teach music classes to middle school students, developing a comprehensive and engaging curriculum that meets the needs of students with varying levels of musical ability.
- Lead and direct the middle school band program, including beginner and advanced ensembles, ensuring students are prepared for performances such as concerts, school events, and local competitions.
- Plan and conduct rehearsals for the band, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment where students are encouraged to develop their musical talents and creativity.
- Collaborate with other music and performing arts staff to organize school-wide performances and events.
- Maintain the inventory of musical instruments and manage the maintenance and procurement of equipment.
- Support the emotional, social, and academic development of middle school students in line with the school's holistic approach to education.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and upcoming performances.
- Stay current with developments in music education, including new teaching methods, music technology, and repertoire.
- Four-year degree from an accredited university
- Bachelor of Education, PGCE, Teaching license: QTS, national/state teaching license/certificate or equivalent
- Three years of experience teaching in a bilingual school, international school, or government/state school
