Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled Tax Planning and Compliance Lead to be responsible for tax planning, reporting, and compliance with international tax laws and regulations. This role will involve managing local tax audits, establishing relationships with provincial tax authorities, and preparing tax reporting packages for APAC entities.

About the Role

This is a critical leadership position that requires a deep understanding of tax laws and regulations, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Managing local tax audits and establishing strong relationships with provincial tax authorities to ensure smooth operations.
  • Preparing tax reporting packages for APAC entities and supporting negotiations with JV partners and suppliers/customers on tax-related matters.
  • Supporting international tax planning, cash optimization, and other ad-hoc tax projects such as mergers and acquisitions.
What We Offer

In return for your expertise and experience, we offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. Additionally, you will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in tax accounting, with a strong understanding of tax laws and regulations.
  • Excellent business acumen and ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience with tax planning software.
