About the Role

We are seeking a candidate with expertise in scholarly research and publishing best practices, as well as a deep understanding of research integrity. The ideal candidate will have experience leading and coaching teams, working in a matrix environment, and communicating effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of up to six members in a global organization
  • Coach the team to work with diverse stakeholders across Elsevier, including the Publishing teams, Legal team, Technology teams, and Operations team, to resolve ethics cases
  • Develop a strong customer-focused perspective in resolving cases
  • Prioritize the management of complex cases according to risk and need
  • Coordinate multiple complex ethics cases across a team to adhere to deadlines
  • Provide consistent guidance and support to Publishing teams and Editors to resolve publishing ethics cases
  • Work with the L&D team to contribute to the development and provision of education and training on research integrity and publishing ethics
  • Develop insights into the volume and type of ethics cases and their complexities to identify appropriate tools and processes
  • Work with teams across Elsevier to identify and implement technology and automate checks to flag potential unethical behavior
  • Stay up to date on market trends and changes to best practices and act as a thought leader for research integrity and publishing ethics

Requirements

  • Strong experience in scholarly research, scholarly publishing, and/or research integrity
  • Proven record in delivering results, prioritizing customer and business needs, and collaborating with different teams
  • Excellent ability to communicate findings and recommendations in a clear, effective, and engaging manner for diverse audiences
  • Proven experience managing a team, with a strong focus on coaching and developing talent
  • Tertiary-level degree or higher
