About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical professional to join our team as a Publishing Ethics Expert. The successful candidate will have a strong sense of natural justice and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Assessing activities by authors, reviewers, editors, and other stakeholders
  • Supporting editors in evaluating allegations of plagiarism, duplication, authorship disputes, and peer review manipulation
  • Providing editors with comments on potential corrections, editor notes, and retraction notices
  • Liaising with legal and communications experts as needed
  • Managing complex cases involving multiple journals and networks of stakeholders
  • Communicating effectively with all stakeholders, including authors, reviewers, and editors
  • Raising awareness and knowledge levels of ethical policies and procedures
  • Providing education to internal colleagues and the scientific community through presentations and webinars
  • Suggesting updates to ethical policies in response to emerging issues
  • Representing the company at conferences and workshops as needed
Requirements
  • A minimum of two years' relevant experience in publishing or a related field
  • Degree in an academic discipline
  • Knowledge of peer-review and the publishing process, as well as COPE best practices
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Experience supporting editors or senior academics
  • Strong sense of mature judgment and analytical skills
  • Ability to work methodically and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Experience working in a complex, international environment
