Job Title: Legal Counsel

Sandvik Machining Solutions (SMS) is seeking a seasoned Legal Counsel to strengthen our global Legal Support team with a focus on China. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine your passion for legal matters, business acumen, and collaboration in a truly global setting.

About the Role

The Legal Counsel will be responsible for enabling the business to make informed and balanced decisions across all legal disciplines worldwide. Your primary focus will be on China, requiring accuracy, strong integrity, and solid business understanding. You will provide qualitative legal advice, assess and mitigate key risks, and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal advice on drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, including procurement, sales, distribution, IT, technology, and intellectual property.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, including implementation of relevant policies and procedures.
  • Manage legal training and legal risk management of agreements.
  • Work closely with the local legal team leader in Northern Asia and report directly to the Head of Legal Support in Sweden.
Requirements
  • Chinese Law degree and at least five years' work experience from a reputable business law firm or within a corporate in-house legal organization with international matters.
  • Strong understanding of China's legislative and enforcement trends, with the ability to act independently and find legally adequate solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills in Chinese and English, both written and verbal.
