Position Overview

allnex is excited to welcome you to our dynamic R&D team as a Research and Development Scientist. In this role, you will engage in the creation of pioneering polymer solutions and technologies specifically for Lithium-Ion Batteries and Electronic Applications. This is a remarkable opportunity to lead projects, introduce high-performance products to the market, and play a vital role in driving allnex's growth in emerging application sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead or participate in cross-functional teams to deliver sustainable new products that meet regional and global customer demands.
  • Offer expert guidance to stakeholders regarding product, process, and customer-specific challenges, both internally and externally.
  • Facilitate collaboration with academic institutions for scouting and partnerships, while also engaging with allnex application labs and clients.
  • Advocate for allnex technology at industry conferences and contribute to its protection through patent submissions.
  • Engage in literature reviews and share insights during regular team meetings.
  • Assess freedom of operation and engage in the allnex intellectual property process for new technologies.
  • Spearhead and contribute to innovative projects with a focus on medium to long-term advancements.
  • Mentor lab technicians on new technologies and processes for product development.
  • Develop sales tools and promotional packages for new technologies and products.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations on new technologies and solutions in both internal and external forums.
  • Ensure a seamless transition to commercialization for new products by providing robust support during scale-up phases.

Required Skills and Experience

  • A minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in related technologies (polyacrylate, polyurethane, polyimide, polyester, epoxy, etc.) within the battery, coating, or adhesive sectors.
  • Practical experience in laboratory settings for synthesis and material characterization.
  • Proven creativity and innovative thinking.
  • Strong collaborative skills across diverse fields, including chemistry and physics.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and resilience.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
  • A results-oriented mindset with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills in the preparation and execution of laboratory experiments.
  • A team-oriented approach, capable of collaborating with colleagues from various locations and disciplines to achieve objectives.
  • Essential project management skills, demonstrating the ability to define projects and integrate cross-disciplinary team members to achieve project goals on schedule.
  • Highly self-motivated with a demonstrated eagerness to learn.
  • A positive attitude and the ability to manage stress in complex situations.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. or Master's Degree in Organic Polymer or Colloid Chemistry, along with practical expertise in preparation.
