About the Role

HSBC is seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Architecture Manager. This is a key position that will support the Traded Risk IT business projects and transformation programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering new IT services, exploiting current data technologies.
  • Migrating applications to the new data platform either in the cloud or on-premises.
  • Analysing and resolving the data gaps across different technology platforms.
  • Streamlining and visualising the data control process across Traded Risk.
  • Improving the data quality and introducing a comprehensive alerting mechanism for data quality issue.
  • The role focuses on both Architecture:
  • Determine business requirement and influence solution towards future state data model.
  • Gauge strategic impact to business function, impacted upstream and downstream services and subsequent technology footprint.
  • Ensure logical design contributes to technology objectives.
  • Examine potential demise opportunities and propose deployment options.
  • Consider service placement requirements.
  • And Design:
  • Delivering end to end technical data architecture designs, ensuring Non-Functional Requirements are realised and validated.
  • Verify impact to adjacent services/systems and Validate deployment and support model.
  • Qualify technical acceptance of all components.
  • Review design and gain approval via design authority.
  • Optimise commercials and approval.

Requirements

  • Business
  • Have a good understanding of the Traded Risk business. Able to translate business needs into appropriate IT solutions.
  • Technical
  • Cloud technologies: (Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure; Google Cloud Platform).
  • Data visualization and data migration.
  • RDMSs (relational database management systems) or foundational database skills.
  • Database management system software, especially Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Databases such as NoSQL and cloud computing.
  • Hadoop technologies, like MapReduce, Spark, Hive, and Pig.
  • Data Transfer Protocol/Networking (FTP, HTTP, HTTP/2, TCP).
  • Programming languages, especially Java, as well as Python, Java GUI, XML/ XSLT, HTML/ Java Script.
  • Operating systems, including UNIX, Linux, Solaris, and MS Windows.
  • Data mining and modelling tools, especially ERWin, Enterprise Architect, and Visio.
  • Backup/archival software.
  • Passion for technology & understanding how things work.
  • Knowledge of OLAP, ETL and Clickhouse, is not essential but an advantage.
