Role Purpose

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) plays a crucial role in enhancing the healthcare landscape through direct scientific interactions with healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders. This position is essential for:

  • Sharing in-depth knowledge of GSK's data to promote an evidence-based understanding of our oncology therapies.
  • Collecting valuable insights regarding GSK's offerings and the medical landscape to better address patient needs and identify evidence gaps.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in scientific discussions with external experts about GSK's products, ensuring they are well-informed to communicate effectively with patients and the medical community.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive field medical strategy with high-quality execution.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable speaker at scientific conferences, facilitating discussions and sharing insights with larger healthcare audiences.
  • Address unsolicited inquiries for Medical Information from healthcare providers in a balanced and scientifically rigorous manner.
  • Act as a liaison between the healthcare community and GSK's internal medical teams, providing insights that inform various business functions.
  • Collaborate effectively with Medical Representatives and Commercial teams to enhance collective efforts.
  • Work alongside cross-functional colleagues to ensure that strategies are aligned with both patient needs and business objectives.
  • Communicate important safety information to healthcare professionals as it arises.
  • Support GSK clinical study teams by providing scientific education and managing inquiries from investigators involved in GSK-supported trials.
  • Deliver scientific training to business partners, acting as the local expert in specific therapeutic areas.
  • Maintain expertise in the evolving scientific landscape and competitor products.
  • Attend scientific meetings to stay updated on advancements in therapy areas and engage in discussions with external experts.
  • Adhere to GSK standards, policies, and local regulations to ensure compliance.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in life sciences (PhD, MSc) or equivalent professional healthcare qualification.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in scientific exchange roles.
  • For candidates in China: Master's Degree in medicine or pharmacy, or a Medical Degree (MD, MBBS, MPharm, PharmD).
  • Proven expertise in relevant GSK therapeutic areas.
  • Strong academic background with experience in research and publications.
  • Over two years of MSL experience in Oncology, preferably in hematology.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to simplify complex scientific concepts.
  • Proficient in utilizing various communication channels.
  • Solid foundation in clinical and pharmaceutical sciences.
  • Understanding of clinical development processes and statistical analysis.
  • Strong networking and collaboration skills.
  • Business-oriented mindset with the ability to balance objectives.
  • A passion for continuous learning and development.
