Medical Science Liaison

Join Takeda as a Medical Science Liaison and play a critical role in advancing our medical strategy in the region. As a key member of our Medical Affairs team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and healthcare professionals to provide scientific support and education on our products.
Responsibilities:- Identify and engage with regional KOLs to provide scientific support and education on our products.
- Develop and implement individual KOL engagement plans to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Maintain robust and long-term professional relationships with regional experts, particularly KOLs, through regular on-field visits and other medical initiatives.
- Obtain feedback and advice from KOLs on our products and therapeutic areas through one-on-one interactions, advisory boards, and medical meetings.
- Summarize and communicate relevant KOL feedback to internal stakeholders to inform our medical strategy.
- Train and develop speakers on our company's products.
- Identify potential investigators for medical affairs studies.
- Establish and manage regional medical plans and initiatives consistent with our central medical strategy and regional medical needs.
- Develop and maintain annual regional medical budget requests and ensure approved budgets are managed and tracked.
- Plan, organize, and conduct regional advisory board meetings in relevant therapeutic areas.
- Conduct KOL visits according to KOL engagement plans, record visit reports, and collect insights using appropriate systems.
- Provide fair and balanced information on the benefits and risks of our products, therapeutic options, and disease states in our regional medical activities.
- Develop and conduct lectures/educational sessions for healthcare audiences on non-promotional regional educational activities.
- Develop non-promotional educational materials (e.g., slide decks, education videos) for specific regional medical activities.
- Proactively support the conduct of Takeda MA studies (Phase IV studies, HEOR), including input for regional site feasibility checks, investigator recommendations, and communication.
- Identify KOL research capabilities and interesting areas and the feasibility of investigator-initiated sponsored studies (IISR) with Takeda, receive unsolicited IISR requests fitting our medical strategy, and escalate for MA review if appropriate.
- As part of the Medical Education team, submit regional medical education grant request applications from external customers.
- Master's degree in Medical or Life Science is required; doctoral education is preferred.
- Either ≥1 year working experience in clinical practice and/or in a multinational pharmaceutical company or ≥2 years relevant work experience.
- ≥2 prior MSL experience with a track record of success in a multinational pharmaceutical company are required for senior MSL roles.
- Clinical experiences within relevant therapeutic areas are preferred.
- Fundamental knowledge of clinical study methodology.
- Customer-focused with excellent communication and influencing skills that can impact at the regional level.
- Highly medical project management skills to deliver on complex tasks within timeframe and manage milestones.
- Innovative sense and willingness to drive a complex and changing environment and effectively manage and resolve issues from a medical perspective.
- Enthusiastic and self-motivated.
- Fluent in written business English, workable in spoken English.
- Awareness of and adherence to the company's credo and compliance requirements.
- Strong communication skills and team spirit.
MSL is a field-based role, and the successful candidate would be expected to >50% work days on field. The successful candidate will also be expected to travel during holidays as required by business needs.
