Job Overview:

A. Responsibilities

The individual in this role will be responsible for overseeing quality management processes during both the development (New Product Introduction) and ongoing production phases. Key responsibilities include:

Executing the procurement strategy established by the Multi-Functional Team (MFT) for Procurement, including supplier development initiatives.

Evaluating suppliers during the bidding process and providing input for selection decisions as necessary.

Managing and contributing to the quality and supply chain elements of contracts, ensuring performance is met in terms of timeliness, quality, and cost when applicable.

Monitoring and supporting new product introductions and changes to ensure readiness for serial production.

Assessing supplier capacity, capability, and performance while aiding in their development.

Identifying industrial risks associated with suppliers and proposing effective mitigation strategies.

Formulating short-term recovery plans as needed.

Initiating and overseeing projects aimed at improving supplier performance.

Reporting on operational performance metrics of suppliers.

Assisting with audits and assessments of suppliers within the designated scope.

Tracking and following up on action plans resulting from audits.

Facilitating communication between the New Product Introduction project team and suppliers.

Conducting on-site observations of supplier actions to ensure compliance with Airbus standards.

C. Core Activities

During the development and production phases, the job holder will engage in key Airbus business processes:

Acting as an expert, the individual will manage complex quality and delivery activities.

Details regarding activities and roles are documented in the relevant governance and procedural guidelines.

Engagement with Suppliers (SO.ES)

  • Providing feedback on sub-commodity strategy recommendations.
  • Contributing to contract-related issues, including the communication of industrial and compliance requirements.
  • Participating in Change Request evaluations.
  • Assisting in the deployment of Supply Chain and Quality standards, methods, and tools (APQP, AirSupply, eConcessions,...).
  • Supporting supplier contract and claims management.

Supplier Approval and Control Review (SO.CS.02.01)

  • Assessing and determining supplier approvability and conducting Supplier Control Reviews.
  • Identifying supplier segmentation and development needs.

While remaining accountable, the job holder may delegate complex quality topic management to designated teams after management validation.

Compliance and Maturity Management (SO.CS.02.02)

  • Managing surveillance decision trees and associated plans.

Gathering inputs, strategies, and objectives for Supply Chain and Quality related to products.

Establishing and sharing surveillance plans and seeking management approval.

  • Verifying compliance with applicable requirements and ensuring convergence to industrial maturity targets.

Deliverables include:

  • Quality Assurance Plans, Supply Chain Dossiers, Industrial Quality Dossiers, and Change Notification Forms.
  • Inspections such as First Article and Source Inspections.
  • Supplier audits and assessments.

Ensuring Supplier Deliveries (SO.CS.02.03)

  • Monitoring all supplier delivery metrics.
  • Analyzing supplier performance data.
  • Protecting production units from recurring supplier issues.

Managing Non-Conformance (MC.QU.02)

  • Overseeing Non-Conformity Notifications and Concessions.
  • Managing Quality Survey Reports.

Safety Management in Production (SARI) (MC.PS. 07)

Additional Responsibilities:

Preparing for ramp-up in Cabin Seats production.

Implementing risk mitigation strategies in the supply chain.

Driving continuous improvement in supply chain and quality processes.

Supporting internal and external audits.

D. Expected Outcomes

Providing feedback on sub-commodity strategies, contributing to risk analysis, ensuring supplier approvals, and maintaining timely reporting of supplier performance.

Ensuring compliance with industrial targets and resolving quality issues effectively.
