Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting student learning and progress within their classes, adhering to our school's standards and policies. Key duties include planning and delivering lessons, marking assignments, maintaining accurate records, and providing regular assessment reports. Collaboration with colleagues and support staff will also be essential in achieving our educational goals.

Teaching and Learning

In accordance with our Teaching and Learning Policy, the appointed teacher will plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet clear learning objectives, ensuring all students make progress. This includes liaising with colleagues to deliver units of work collaboratively, covering absent colleagues, and working closely with teaching assistants to deliver personalized learning. Additionally, the teacher will set targets for student attainment levels using relevant data and contribute to the school's enrichment program.

Assessment, Recording and Reporting

Maintaining rigorous and accurate records is crucial in this role. The successful candidate will mark and return assignments regularly, provide assessment reports when required, and ensure differentiated material is provided to suitably challenge students. Furthermore, they will assist the Head of Department in evaluating examination results and agreeing corrective actions. Effective communication with parents regarding student progress will also be expected.

Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree or higher in your subject area is preferred, along with an accredited teaching qualification.
  • At least two years' experience since graduation, preferably in full-time teaching in a well-established education system.
  • Fluency and proficiency in English.
  • A willingness to act as homeroom teacher and contribute to athletic and co-curricular programs.
  • Good health and a clear police record.
